At Root, we’re changing that.
Our AI-powered platform automates corporate and product footprint calculations from start to finish. We turn scattered, incomplete operational data into clean, intelligent sustainability insights. Think tens of millions of data points, messy ERP exports, complex supply chains, and sustainability logic that most tools simply can’t handle. Our goal is to make all of that feel simple, clear, and usable for the people who rely on it every day.
That’s where you come in.
We’ve recently closed our €1 million seed round and are now looking for an Account Executive to help bring this new way of working to market. You’ll be at the forefront of our commercial growth, helping leading retail brands replace manual processes with AI-driven LCA that delivers real business value.

🚀 The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Account Executive to help us turn early interest into real customer momentum. As our first commercial hire, you’ll work closely with the founders to convert outbound replies into strong discovery calls, trusted champions, and closed deals.
This role is focused on execution and learning. You’ll run follow-ups, lead sales conversations, and guide prospects through our sales process. Over time, you’ll take full ownership of deals, from first reply to close, with the goal of operating independently within your first year.
You will work on things like:
Following up on outbound responses and qualifying leads into high-quality discovery calls
Running discovery and demo conversations with sustainability teams
Supporting champions in building an internal case when budget or approval is needed
Managing deals through the full sales cycle, from first conversation to close
Sharing market feedback to improve messaging, positioning, and sales motions
This is a role with clear progression: you’ll start side-by-side with the founders, and gradually move toward full deal ownership and autonomy.
🛠️ What we think you'll need
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You take initiative, follow up consistently, and keep momentum moving.
Curiosity and credibility. You don’t need deep LCA expertise, but you care about understanding what you sell and explaining it clearly.
Comfort with consultative B2B conversations. You listen well, ask good questions, and build trust over time.
The ability to bring structure to open-ended conversations. You summarise, clarify next steps, and help buyers move forward.
Good judgment. You know when to move independently and when involving the founders will improve the outcome.

Legally authorised to work in the EU or set up to work as a contractor
Available between 9AM and 5PM CET on working days
